My girlfriend and I are planning a year long tour around Europe but are a bit unsure of which is the best camper van to buy. Our budget is around £3000. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers people!!

My suggestion's would be:

a. Buy some issues of Camper & Commercial magazine, to get a good general idea of the various types available and prices.

b. This year, go to 'Vanfest' http://www.vanfest.org/page/ and 'The Brighton Breeze' http://www.ssvc.org.uk/bb/.
Looking at lots of buses together will really help you choose/eliminate features that you will need.
I would go for a pop-top conversion if I were you. Westfalia is best if you want full facilities, but Devon or similar conversion will be easier to find at a much more reasonable price.

At the show's, walk around looking inside people's buses  :D, talk to the owners, and ask them nicely to show you features you are interested in. Look at the different types of bed mechanisms for example, and see how they work. Some are longer than others! Bus people are really friendly and will be happy to help! :)

Most importantly, get someone who knows buses WELL, to look over any prospective purchase for you! You need to buy the most SOLID rotfree bus you can find with your budget.
Good Luck, Your trip sounds fantastic!

Do you elimination/research on the scene, but try and buy away from it, via local papers etc, as these days £3k wont go as far as it used to.

For a big trip I wouldnt rule out a t25?
