I've recently discovered a brake servo from a Mark2 Scirocco is basically the same damn thing as the original 8" servo in my 1972 bay window, which had rusted out inside. You just have to weld on the original push-rod nut to the input rod on the replacement unit (which simply unscrews to allow welding it on). The brake master cylinder just bolts on with no mods (it's the same as the Scirocco's) and there's plenty of these servo's in scrapyards, so save yourself about £250 (for a new 9" which hits the handbrake cable more!) and put a grin on your face.
Full details can be supplied if anyones interested.
