Can you get it fitted to these older models. i am getting mixed messages from different companies. It seems pretty pricey. WE had a camper van in the 80's and 90's withoit air con and we are planning to buy another one now, but as we will be doing a lot of driving in south of france and Italy, we want to stay cool. Any cheap alternatives ( yes, I know about opening the windows!)

Hi Patrick,
You do find a few of the US Import T25's with AC but the trouble is it can be preety expensive to put right if it goes wrong.
To give you an idea, due to the AC compressor being on the engine at the back and the evaporator under the dash the pipework alone would cost around £350 to replace.
Most if not all 25 AC systems would be running on a nasty refridgerant called R12 (pre 1992 systems) which is banned now due to the CFC content. The replacement is R134a which if converted properly should have the pipe work changed!!!!!!!!!
Hence the reason why you dont see many 25's or T2's with WORKING AC!!!
Most people rip the systems out.
Hope this helps,
Stuart.
