Hi everyone.

This question has been asked over and over again, but nothing ever seems to be done to address it.

However, here we go...........

Do you think it a good idea to have an extra forum group on here for recommendations for VW garages and repairers? I say with caution as I have had bad experiences with a recommendation on a forum elsewhere.

I once asked for a recommendation for someone to rebuild our engine and got a reply. I found out later (to my cost) it was the person running the garage! :-( They didn't do the work they promised they would. However I digress.

If we had one thread for each and ***led appropiately i.e. ***le = Berkshire - MJ Motors - Wokingham (fictional name), we could then gradually build up a database.

Only two or more recommendations by the forum members should be taken into consideration and any work done by these poeple should be reported back on that particular thread.

What do you think moderators?

Thanks moderators! Those missing letters are:

T - I - T = as is in: T i t l e

(Hope that works)

David,

Thanks for that link - very interesting and I'm sure it'll be of some use to some.

I noted the header : "What is Dubdoctors? A resource for owners of air-cooled Volkswagens. We have a database of specialists so you can find your nearest vdub garage or parts shop".

Air-Cooled....ah....slight problem for some! I know some Air-cooled garages are willing to work on the later wasserboxers, but in the main most are not due to the complexities of the cooling system.
