Hello everyone.
New to the forum so a big howdy.
I've got a 1989 VW transporter (T25) which has a 1.6litre engine in it which currently has oil leak/back pressure problems. Mechanic has advised may be best to search for a new engine however I'm reluctant to replace with a 1.6litre but would like to upgrade to a 2litre - mainly cos the old girl really struggles at times esp on the big hills in Scotland! (She nearly conked out on the Honnister pass in the lakes recently!)
Any general advice welcome but specifically is anyone aware of any problems or things you need to consider in changing engine size? My mechanic says someone has told him we might need to change gear box too if we are upgrading to two litre but he is trying to find out for sure. Anyone know if this is the case?
