I bought this "Bus" as a work car, but it dosn't like to start when I want it to.
I bought a used starter and was going to replace it when I ran in to a problem with the old one. I was looking at the new one and saw that there was 2 mounting holes easy enough. (so I thought(see image 5 below))

I started to feel around for the seconed bolt and only found the half moon bolt of what ever you want to call it (circled in red) I have the rest of the starter outlined in red also. Can anyone tell me if thes a tool I need or if this isn't what I'm supposr to be trying to remove.

I am pretty sure the nut is on the other end of this bolt. The other end of this bolt can be found behind the fan housing in the engine bay. (it is one of the 4 bolts that mount the engine to the gearbox.)

You will need to remove the air filter etc and reach behind from the right hand side and feel your way along to almost half way along the back of the bulkhead behind the fan housing and it should be around there somewhere.

Its a bit of a devil to get to but that should solve your problem.

Bugman thanks for the help. You were right on the "nut". I got it switched out this morning.
