I recently bought a transporter (in March) which had 132,000 miles on the clock when I bought it. According to the service history it was due a full service, which I promptly had done, but because it had received a cam belt change only 9,000 miles previously I and the garage didn't think it necessary to change it. However the worst thing that can happen has happened and it has now snapped! Is it normal for a cam belt to go so soon? I thought the usual time to change was approximately 30,000 to 40,00 miles? something seems strange to me!?! :( :confused:
