 hello
I have a 74 bay window that is too tall to get into the garage.
option is to change garage doors or lower the bus a bit.
what are adv. or disadv. of lowering?
how do I lower the bus and how much is it likely to cost?
cheers

A simple lowering job will cost about £300 and will bring it down (upto) about 4 inches ... more than this can start to cause issues, but these can be overcome by different techniques/equipment, and the price will rise accordingly.

I found lowering a bay improved the handling on the road, but it was grounded out on potholes if i was going a bit quick, I put some used Peugeot 205 shocks on the front of the van and that worked a treat, they were £20 a pair from scrapyard. Mine was only lowered a bit so not slammed to the ground.

Lowering does make the steering a bit heavier, and means you may find it interesting driving across uneven campsites if the van is loaded up with kit and passengers. I now have a crew cab I'm leaving original height so it can be loaded with anything heavy if needs be, but my split is going to be lowered a bit though...
