problem with monster tacho

hi i have a 1972 dormobile and have bought a 5" monster tacho wired it into the van and when i rev the engine the tacho goes backwards i am stumped can anyone help !!!:confused::confused::confused::confused:

Is it connected to the coil correctly? the green wire should go to the negative terminal on the coil I believe
