hi everybody,
just joined the forum today and what a godsend it is to have stumbled upon it.
I have an 03 T4 Caravelle, 9 seater LWB auto. You probably know what i'm about to say..............lock up........... I've had the gearbox and torque convertor reconditioned and temperature coolant sensor changed. Tried putting a new gear box ECU in but that didn't call for lock-up until 50mph hense making the vehicle underpowered and less economical (i use the vehicle part time for tax-ing), so the old one went back in. When i have a full load of people on board and the engine/gearbox is under strain the gearbox come out of lock-up and wont lock-up again until i pull over and turn the engine off then back on again, then it might be okay for a while or sometimes not. What can i do to sort this problem out? Is the new ECU programmed this way to overcome lock-up issues? Would it be economically viable to convert to manual?...................I love my Caravelle and cant afford to invest in a newer one, please help!!!!! :( :( :(
