Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a VW Camper in need of restoration, but have never done anything like this before. Can anyone recommend any good Camper restoration books or links to help me along the way.
Many Thanks
Parker
At this time, the busiest VW Camper site, is at www.camperchat.co.uk
Read the threads and visit the personal sites to gain a plethora of , not all good, information.

Haynes "VW Beetle and Transporter Restoration Manual" is a good start to see what you have got in store!
Good Luck!

I bought a 72 dormobile about 4 years ago for £200 so you can guess what condition that was in. Replaced the bottom 6 inches inwards and upwards all the way around. Never done anything like it before.
type2.com has some excellent articles on pretty much everything you'll ever need. I found the vw beetle and transporter restoration manual an interesting read but not very much technical detail. I would certainly recommend you buy the Robert Bentley Official Service Manual if you are going to do anything other than the bodywork (not much in the Bentley manual for bodywork repairs - ie welding etc). Alan Schofield has supplied me with most of my parts up to now. Very good quality and service. First couple of panels i bought were from a local shop which weren't as good quality as the Schofield panels and were about the same price. Hope this helps you a bit. Still haven't got mine on the road yet. Watch this space. Have fun :D
My girlfriend and I have been documenting the restoration process for our Australian 1976 Kombi. You can see it online with photos at www.engelhardt.id.au/tang :D

The one to get that goes with this one nicely is the Haynes bodywork repair manual. It is written by the same guy as the one above. (Lindsay Porter). Full of useful info including what tools to buy etc.
Once you get stuck into the resto, another good place to visit is http://www.frost.co.uk They are specialist suppliers to classic car restorers. Loads of usful kit on their site.
