I have a friend who has a Subaru Legacy - 1990 2.2 litre engine which I understand can be used in a VW with minimal modifications,
the engine has a blown head gasget and to repair means taking engine out of subaru (hence why he's getting rid of it) car can be driven fine at the moment and has valid MOT. Other than that engine is good and has done under 100k I understand.
As engine would come out before going into camper can more easily fix head gasget.
It's not air-cooled but the power would be worth it!
looking for £100 or offers for the car as is (saves scrapping it)
