1). Our 1970 Dormobile conversion has an opening 1/4 light in the sliding door
and in the fixed rear window on O/S.

The frames have all rusted and seized solid, would like to keep these when all the glass goes back in.

Does anyone know where I can obtain the frames, preferably new.

2). Windscreen, wheres the best place to buy new laminated ones ?

3). Wheels, what colour should these be ?

4). Number plates, would like new raised letter ones, can these still be bought ?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Hi,
I tried to get new opening 1/4 lights to fit my bus but couldn't find any! I ended up getting a sliding system from Just kampers. I can tell you from experience that when 1/4 lights leak the water can run down inside to the underside of the floor covering and rot the steel floor! This can't be seen until you take up the wooden floor to reveal the steel one. I was lucky and only had wet stains but most go rotten!

Sorry, don't know about windscreen.

Dave Eccles has just written a new book on Bay Windows he should be able to help you with wheel colours. (Book includes pic's of Martha's innards! :D )

I have black/silver embossed plates on Martha and had no problem getting them. You will need proof of the age of vehicle to get black/silver plates though. Take documents with you to motor factor and he should be able to order them for you.

Number plates can be bought online from CC Motorsport (http://www.ccmotorsport.co.uk/plate-shop.htm) . As long as your bus is pre-73 you can have these made up without having to provide proof of ownership. I bought some and they are very good.

Opening quarterlights. These you have to hunt around for but usually the only decent ones are from imported parts. Took me a while to source one for the off-side rear but the one for the sliding door was the most difficult. I managed to get a reasonable one but I had to make a cut-'n'-shut out of the two. Had to do some pretty fancy welding to make it look good!

not quite
Its about interiors used by the camping conversion companies showing changes models specs layouts etc etc
However there IS a Bay book like my Split Spec book coming out soonly which will contain akll the details anyone ever wants to know (and its good, nearly as good as mine ;) !)
