Ok, So I'm new to the world of type 2's but aso far loving every minute of it. I have recently purchased a 1975 type 2, who clearly had a camper fit out in the back at some time but doesn't any more. So I'm hunting round for something authentic the problem being that she's a tin top roof and so far every conversion I've ever seen has some form of pop top roof. any thoughts much apreciated, she does have a louvre window directly behind the drivers seat if that helps. Oh and the M plate suggests she's a westfalia although I'm presuming this must be wrong. Please, please help me!!
Thanks

Hi There,

She could be a tin top westfalia!. The actual pop top was an optional extra from westfalia.

I've come across a few tin top westfalia's in the states.

Not sure what she is though from your description?

Stu,
Thanks for this reply, could you tell me as far as you know if there are any differances other than the loss of asleeping space in the roof.
Thanks

Hi Smithosa,

Well there was a choice of two interior arrangements on the late westfalia's 74>

The Helsinki and the Berlin.

Berlin has all appliances down the one side of the van with a 3/4 rock and roll bed (to make room for the fridge/cool box)

Helsinki has the sink unit/fridge or cool box behind the passenger seat with a drop down cooker and wardrobe on the other side. Helsinki had full length rock and roll.

Send me some pics and I'll try and help!!!!
