well after spending most of weekend trying to sort why the bus was missing..and making it worse before having to do more work on the bus in one weekend than the past ten years added up we finally got to BVF on Sunday at 1.30.
At 2.30 the heavens opened...
and on the way home the cab filled with smoke from some faulty wiring i now have to sort...scary...
but got some nice pics

Hmm! Your lucky it was only your ignition that was missing Dave! By the sounds of the reports on Kamperchat, if you'd stayed overnight it could be your wallet, camera or anything else that went missing! :(
Saddens me that this sort of thing happens at all!

It's a shame when this sort of things happens and causes so much upset to so many, whether affected directly or not, by a minority of worthless people. I know there is much debate as whether some people will go again next year, and it is annoying to think that it is the presence of this scum who are causing people to think twice about going, especially as it supposed to be a friendly family weekend with on-site security. I wonder if a noticable improvement will be seen next year, or if clubs will have to position their own 'guards' to protect their belongings. I hope for the sake of all it doesn't amount to that. :(
I missed the stall being there, as Im after a second binder, still theres more show to come.
For what its worth I enjoyed BVF. Apart from the Sunday half hour downpour the weather wasnt too bad, andfor me, all was well at Malvern.
Whilst the theft incidents were saddening, such behaviour is everywhere, and hopefully people will be more cautious and vigilant in the future, but hopefully not to the point of aggresive behaviour.
I hope the negativity on some forums will not affect future show attendances, nor enthusiasm from show organisers.

I hope you kept my mobile number for Vanfest photo's Dave. :D
I had problems before setting out to BVF too .... I must have wired a new "S" socket in reverse and started to burn rubber!! :o
With reference to the thefts, I have to say that it is very difficult to see who is a thief and who isn't ... they don't wear striped jerseys and carry "swag" bags anymore. I am a BVF and Vanfest team member and believe me when I say that it sickens us all when this happens. :(
We as a team do our very best and will continue to do so.

it was particualy upsetting for me, as we were camped with friends right next to us when their daughters tent was broken into. Never had this at any VW show before, it won't stop me going in the future, but up until now we've gone out and left awning open, I've always felt we were safe in camp rusty bay, but thats only during the day. from now on, I will be on my guard at night, and be zipping up my awning during the day! :(
