Don't suppose anyone has a spare jack and/or tyre iron for a type 2 camper? Just bought a '72 Westie last week and discovered it hasn't got either and the previous owner never thought to look in the 2 years he owned it !

Currently trying to stop it bio degrading on my drive way and am having heaps of fun discovering extra bits of trouble I forgot to check when I bought it. Rear valence shot, outriggers rusty, front windscreen crumbling and leaking like a sieve onto 'lectrics and void behind pedals. Ah joy

Best sticker I have seen so far is:
Braking is more about antisipation rather than expectation with a camper!!

If you have rust then forget a standard jack. Youll be better off with a trolley jack, and put it under the chassis its self, dont trust the jacking points.
Any automotive outlet will sell a wheel brace, or get a good 19mm long socket and breaker bar.

Got a man quoting me on replacing all 4 jacking points (plus wheel arch, valance etc.. ). The parts are cheap enough from Schofield so it's just welding time. Schofield is turning out to be a bit of a find (plus being a clear website for those of us just starting out), also managed to get a front windscreen sill repair kit for around £20 (will stop the local welders from trying to bodge something together).

Must stop using the bracketted statements.. :o

Thanks for the advice on using a trolley jack but it's a bit big to cart around (even in a camper) plus it's the missus bus and I'm not convinced she could wield it to great effect.

There is one on Ebay at the moment although I was advised not to use one as the jack points might be weak. If you still want one, follow this link and bid away...
